Thank You DIY!

Last week I got the hair brained idea (I do get those from time to time..) of painting our oak cabinets in our massive kitchen. At first John was a little hesitant of the idea but like the good husband he is he trusted me in my crazy idea. (he also questioned me painting our walls brown but that turned out great as well, so he knows to just go with it..)

I looked on DIY.com and found a great glazing technique that I just loved! However after I bought the paint and stain I began to chicken out, but confident that I could do we pressed on. The result...

My sweet husband cut bead board for the ends of the cabinets. The glazing techique is simply stain (Minwax, Special Walnut) that you put on with a soft stain brush and then wipe it off. So easy! If I can do it anyone can! Believe me...

It looks so great, Lora! I bet the process is very similar to what the former owners of our house did to our kitchen cabinets. Love the bead board!!
