And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Mud Puddles

After the 5 1/2 inches of rain we got in our yard yesterday we were blessed with a large pond in our front yard. However this morning when we woke up it had gone down to a mud puddle. Livy was thrilled! Since the sun was shining I thought she could go out and play in it. Fun fun!

Eventually she finally ended up laying in it. She is so NOT afraid of getting dirty!

She had a blast!
(I had a funny video but for some reason the server is rejecting it. oh well..I'll put it on FB.)

Happy Easter!

What a rainy Easter! We tried to have fun and not be so bummed about the fact is was pouring outside. We made the best of it and did some fun things inside.

 We dyed eggs...

We dyed lots. Our whopping 10 eggs. It was fun though.
We made a bunny cake. Livy named her "Ruby". Probably because she loves the cartoon "Max and Ruby".

Ruby was tasty!

Easter morning of course the girls had there baskets.

Livy had a surprise. Typically we don't get a ton of stuff for the kids. Mainly a few things in their baskets, but since her b-day is in January and it's cold outside we figured we would get her a bike. She love it!

Our two sweeties

We had an amazing church service today. So thankful that Jesus died for me and is alive!!
He is RISEN! Happy Easter!

Thank You DIY!

Last week I got the hair brained idea (I do get those from time to time..) of painting our oak cabinets in our massive kitchen. At first John was a little hesitant of the idea but like the good husband he is he trusted me in my crazy idea. (he also questioned me painting our walls brown but that turned out great as well, so he knows to just go with it..)

BEFORE

I looked on DIY.com and found a great glazing technique that I just loved! However after I bought the paint and stain I began to chicken out, but confident that I could do we pressed on. The result...

AFTER

My sweet husband cut bead board for the ends of the cabinets. The glazing techique is simply stain (Minwax, Special Walnut) that you put on with a soft stain brush and then wipe it off. So easy! If I can do it anyone can! Believe me...

Thank you DIY for helping me carry out another crazy idea of mine.

Glad they have instructional videos on DIY. I need visual!!

Barbies, Ponies, and a Circus

I walked into the kitchen the other day and saw this...

In my attempt to fix lunch I told Livy to move them into the back room. She responded, "but Mom, these are my Barbie's and ponies surfing at the beach!" I believe one day she will be a creative genius. She has quite the imagination.

Last weekend while John and myself had a little get-a-way John's parents came down to watch the girls. They took them to the Shrine Circus. Livy saw elephants and tigers for the first time. They had a great time.

Clearly Anna looks a bit wiped out plus it was warm that day. Livy didn't want to ride the elephants. She was ok just watching.

Refreshed

Spring.. Ahhhh. That's more like it!! So glad it finally decided to get warm again. I love it when flowers, plants, and trees come back to life. Such a pretty time of the year. Everything is new again. Today, I opened up the windows and let the breeze come in. God is good. It's been a while since I have "wrote" with no pics to go with it. Can you believe it?! No pics... Oh well..

We have had an eventful week. Our church had revival this week and God's Word was brought to us by a very upbeat and charismatic evangelist. Now, I was raised a Baptist and still am a Baptist so charismatic and Baptist don't really go in the same sentence (LOL!). But hey, I enjoyed it and  we had a "Bapti-costal" week. No seriously, what a great serious of sermons and worship. God spoke and did some great things in our church and in my own heart.

Now that we are refreshed I look forward to a weekend with family and so extra time with my husband. He started working four, ten hour days which is so nice. Love having him home on Fridays. Looking forward to doing something out of the ordinary for a change. Much needed.

Psalm 63: 3-8
Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you!
I will praise you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer
You satisfy me more than the richest feast.
I will praise you with songs of joy.

I lie awake thinking of you,
meditating on you through the night.
Because you are my helper,
I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings.
I cling to you;

your strong right hand holds me securely.

Sisters

I love it when they sit side by side. Too cute! Reminds me of a conversation we had the other day...
Liv: Momma, Anna is my best friend.
Me: Awe Liv, that's great! I love your Auntie Angela. She is one of my best friends too, but I thought Audrey was your best friend.
Liv: She is! First Audrey, then Anna.

Livy Grace is a hoot!

First Word

Anna said MOMMA! Finally she speaks! Livy said da da first. I hear thats easiest and first word babies will say. So thrilled she says MOMMA! It kinda reminds me of the baby doll that has the string in the back and when you pull it the doll says momma, momma, momma. Music to my ears! Thank you Jesus!
