A Day In The Life...

at our house. Today we...

 ate some breakfast.


Then took Livy to preschool. Precious class huh?!?! Since Livy's b-day was Saturday I made cupcakes. I had planned on taking them last Thursday, but because of the 5 inches of snow or so on the ground there was no school.

Then after that I made a mad dash to the hospital for Anna's physical therapy session. I don't have any pics of that, because she actually does better when I'm not back there with her (doesn't cry as much..). Which I'm totally fine leaving her with the therapist. He does a good job. He has been working on standing and getting her to bare weight through the legs and sitting up to a seated position. She is coming along with that. Praying she will be standing and setting herself upon her OWN! But hey, she army crawls up a storm and is happy as a lark!


 Then we went home and had a little lunch. She discovered the world of pineapple today and she is a fan.As you can see..



Okay I know you are thinking "what in the heck are you making?", well it's a detox tea. It aides in weight loss.. I know I've got a lot of junk and toxins so I'm flushing them out (of course you have to eat well too..) The new health foods store in town is great! Really it's not a bad cold tea. I'm not a big hot tea person. Coffee all the way for me!! Here's the recipe if you're interested...

  • 3 oz. fresh ginger peeled and chopped
  • Dandelion root tea
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Artichoke extract. (could find it so the lady there suggested I use something called "liver tone"..sounds delightful huh..)
  • 5 cups water
  • Lemon or Lime juice, 2 tblsp.
Put water in a large stock pot and add ginger. Bring to a gentle boil. When it comes to a boil, turn off the heat and add 6 bags of tea and 2 cinnamon sticks. Cover and steep for 15 min. Then put in 30 drops of extract and add the lemon juice. Chill in the refrigerator. 

(I got the recipe from the book "Skinny Chicks Don't Eat Salads". Good book.)


 Then before her afternoon nap we had a tea party. Obviously it was a great party.
So happy..geeze I love that kid!

Happy Birthday Livy

 We have a 4 year old! The 22nd is technically her b-day, but we celebrated tonight. Time sure does fly. The icing on the cake..she also got to share it with her "bestest" friend Audrey. They had a sleep over.
This has to be the greatest pic ever. Love it!

It's An Obsession Really..

Dear MM/Mars Candy Co.,

I must say that MM's are one of my faves! The almond ones are to die for! Well, until I discovered these a while back. Let's just cut to the chase; these are extremely yummy and very addictive. These tastey morsels of goodness aren't so great for the weight loss thing though. True, they are only 150 calories a serving, but seriously, who eats just a serving of these?.? You have made a fabulous product, they are my new favorite MM, and I will love them for years to come. Now to work on the self control part. Anyway kudos to you all!

Snow Day

 And what a snow day it was. Wish we would have gotten more than a couple inches, but I guess I'll take it. John woke up this morning and decided to take a vaca day. He hasn't done that in forever (since all of his days later year were planned around Little Rock visits). So it was an awesome blessing! Livy loved the snow.
 Livy and Daddy make a snow man.



Why didn't I get a better pic of the snowman? Who knows. Look between John and Livy. You'll see it. They played out in the snow for probably an hour or more. Which was good for me because I did some cleaning.

Starting with the carpet. Guess what this is? Let's just say Anna had another massive blow out! I say ANOTHER because the day before she messed all over another part of the carpet. It was all over her clothes, all in her hair, and yes, I wanted to vomit..So after scrubbing for awhile on yesterdays surprise, I decided to get out the "big guns"! Yep, the steam cleaner. I cleaned the entire living room carpet. Hey, being the "at home chick" has stinky times. Just keep'n it real folks... The living room carpet is lovely now and smells fresh.. You have no idea how bad I wish I could have hard wood floors (sigh..). That is NOT in the budget.. Praise the Lord for our steam cleaner.  


While John and Livy played, and I cleaned, Anna did this... God bless her.
