And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Bring The Rain

Typically I'm not one for rainy days, but today is so nice. The rain smells so good and my flowers and veggie plants are getting a good drink. I have had the windows open all morning. It's great! Well we still don't have our garden in yet (darn rainy weather...even though I just said I liked it...just for today anyway.) John has to get one more big scoop of dirt to top of the boxes then we will be ready for planting. Tomorrow I hoping to get everything in the ground. Should be a fun family project.

Still working on projects. I should start calling all this work "Project Baby". Although not everything we are doing is for baby. Really just half of it is. We're getting the garage in order. John got his work bench finished. Also, I'm planning on having our carpets cleaned next week. Between Livy having "accidents" and other toddler mishaps on the carpet and our kitty, it's time for a good steam cleaning! We also hope to get something lined up for our sunroom or addition soon. I also hope to get Liv's bed painted soon too. That's one thing we aren't doing (well two really. We aren't doing the addition either) Poor John is tired with all the yard word. God bless him! He is a trooper.

Building Boxes..

for our garden. We hope to get everything planted this week (if we don't get rained out!). Produce at the store is stupid expensive so anything to cut down on the grocery bill. John had a little helper. Although she was just interested in eating her ice cream.

I had the windows open in our kitchen/dining room area because it was such a nice evening. As I was cleaning up supper dishes this is what I heard. It was hilarious listening from the house.

Livy: I help Daddy!

John: using drill....

Livy: That loud Daddy!

John: using drill..

Livy: That loud Daddy! Daddy make'n boxes?!?!? (then jabbering about the box and pointing)

Me: Livy what'cha do'n

Livy: I help'n Daddy!

John: using drill

Livy: Oh, that loud Daddy!

This same thing went on for a while. Funny kid! She really wanted to help.

My Rugged Man

John has been at the Rugged Faith men's retreat this weekend. The guys did some 4 wheeler riding this afternoon. Joe emailed this pic to me this afternoon. No head injuries were to be reported this time (thank the Lord!).

John and Joe also did some turkey hunting this morning too and John said he was SO CLOSE to getting his turkey. He was kinda disappointed.

Happy Birthday Audrey!

Livy's friend Audrey turned 3 this week and today was her birthday party. Audrey is a sweetie! She matched her cake so well.

Sweet birthday princess

Livy loved the cake! Obviously, she wore half of it.

I Love That Slide Mommy!

Livy says that to me when we venture out to the park. She's a funny girl! We had mommy group today so I thought I would post a few pics of our morning. It is a beautiful day outside. In the 80's, but very very windy.

Not Very Newsy...

but I'll ramble anyway. Lets see, um..well, this morning I went to the store and got groceries and during all that Livy through the fit of the century. Came home and put the groceries away and cleaned a bit. And I put little girl down for a nap. A LONG nap! At that point I had to sit for just a moment for some NEEDED quiet time!!

I finished planting flowers today. Go me! Then we went to ours pastor's house and John fixed his computer while Kathye and I visited. Then we all went to Letty's with Joe and Kim. Good! Pregnancy+Mexican food=wonderful!!

Now, John is mowing, I need to give my dirty cutie (Livy) a bath then put her to bed.

That's about it for today. A not very newsy, but very tired woman signing off.

A Due Date Flip Flop..

I went to see Dr. George today for a monthly check-up. All is well. He figured my offical due date as 11/20/09. I posted a couple weeks ago that I had an ultrasound and that I was 5wks 4 days. He said that my "gestational sac" is that far along. (well now it's 7 wks 4 days.) He said "you are 9 weeks from your last missed period." So I came home and did some research on pregnancy.org and did a pregnancy calendar. He is right, of course. I'm right on track. I get it now. Geeze....you would think I would understand this from my first baby. Anyway people, it's Thanksgiving baby. Happy turkey day to us!

The doc also said that we will find out the sex of our baby in 10 wks (June). Livy says she wants a "sister". Well, actually sometimes it changes. She doesn't totally get what is happening, but we talk to her about it and tell her that God is making her brother or sister inside of Mommy. Anyway, we'll see in June. As far as wanting a boy or girl I really don't care which we have. A girl would be way easier because I have all the clothes and stuff for one. On the other hand a boy would be nice because John wants a son (of course). We will love whatever God gives us!

It's Off To Work We Go..

Getting started on the "little projects", like yard work. We thought it was going to rain most of the day Saturday, but it didn't start until mid afternoon. So we decided to take advantage of the "no rain" after breakfast and mulch our bed in front. I trimmed up the bushes while John ran to get the mulch. Livy loved to help!

Little girl loves to sit in Daddy's truck

All done. Bushes were way out of control. Two of my azalea plants are in bloom the other two will bloom soon.

Today Livy and I planted flowers in my pots. Liv loved shoveling the dirt. She was covered in dirt, but she had fun. Bath time for a certain little girl tonight!

Not done yet. I need a couple more pots.

Livy watered.

Done for today. Pretty.

I also planted some herbs again this year too (cilantro and rosemary). It seems like I make salsa once a week these days. WE LOVE HOMEMADE SALSA! I would love to can some. I need to find a pressure cooker...

These are tomato, squash, and green peppers. We bought some green bean seeds and another veggie seed that I can't think of right now (figures, I'm forgetting things like crazy!! Expectant mother brain freeze..). John is going to build a garden box this week so we can get our garden out. He is also in the process of building a work bench for the garage too. Hopefully this week we can get something nailed down on our home office addition so that can begin soon.

Ah, projects. It helps to keep me going so I don't sit around feeling tired all the time. Really, we are excited about the projects. I have actually enjoyed working out in my yard!

Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho

It's off to work we go! We have got lots to do before baby gets here in 7 months. We have some projects we are going to tackle in the coming months.

Project #1: The first one we are going to undergo is to make room for baby. Our spare room right now is our office/bedroom so we really don't have anywhere for our office stuff to go. Livy is getting the bed so that won't be a problem like I said it's mainly the office type stuff. After much talking and praying we are adding on to our house a sunroom where our concrete patio is and that will become the "home office". It will be heated and cooled so we can use it all year. We have called some sunroom people and they have come out and gave us estimates, and truly it's a bit high. A friend from John's work suggested that we just call a builder and have a room built on. A guy that John goes to Bible study with recommended someone that would be good and he came out to check things out a couple days ago. Hopefully we will hear how much his estimate is in a day or two. You know, we really don't want a lot of window like a sunroom would have, just a room with some windows and filler (wall) in between. Basically a room, I guess. While we're at it we are going to refiance our home while rates are good.

Project #2 is we are going to fix/tear out the shower window in our bathroom. The people that built the house in a bad job on the window in the first place, so we are going to tear that out, build a wall there and tile it over. The great part is that the builder left a box to tile in our garage when we bought the house. Yeah! At least that's one thing we don't have to purchase. As soon as the weather will stop freezing and doing a crazy roller coaster ride in temp. we will tackle that one.

Project #3 is a bunch of little stuff like making a garden, getting Livy's rod iron bed frame sand blasted and painted, mulching our flower bed, then after the whole sunroom or room thing is finished and organizing the office there's getting the baby's room ready (painting moving furniture etc.) , and getting Livy's room fixed. Ya know, stuff. Yikes!!!

Will I have any hair left after all of this?? By God's grace I sure hope so!! Jesus take the wheel!!

Cravings

Oh why, oh why must a pregnant woman have them?!?! Don't know? At 10:30 last night they were REALLY bad. Every food commercial in the world was on. I especially wanted a Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich or a pizza from Pizza Hut. But I was a good girl and just had a bowl of cereal. I wouldn't have went into Mtn. Home that time of evening anyway (however, I think John would have just so he could have some with me..). My mission is to not gain over 30 lbs., in the event that I have massive cravings, I am keeping good food around the house (like lots of fruit and crackers). I went to Wal-Mart last night to buy groceries and while I was going down the cracker isle picking out my snack, I ran across Wheat Thins. I adore them. Especially these! They are so yummy!!!!!!There is also a Wisconsin cheddar one. I'm going to try them too (probably this week, cause I'm gonna have to get another box, or two. What the heck, I'll get one of each! hee hee!) Of course I can't eat the whole box in one sitting (which I could totally do) not good for me. But hey, it's better than eating a fast food burger or pizza.

He is Risen!

He is risen indeed! What a great day to be a believer in Christ! We've had a good weekend. Livy and I went to the Easter egg hunt at church yesterday and then John's parents came for a visit.

Uh, forget pics...Livy won't sit still..oh well...

Mark 16:6
but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body.

A Bit Off

Well, my due date anyway...Yesterday morning I had some bleeding so I made an appointment with the doctor and went in at 1:30. What I thought would be about an hour ordeal turned out to be 3 hours. Yuck.... I'll try to sick to the "short" version, so here goes....

John's boss gave him the rest of the day off and he stayed home with us and took care of Livy while I took it easy. My doctor that I would normally see was on vacation that week so I saw another doctor (which he is very good too!). I hadn't had my first doc. app yet either. It was going to be in 2 weeks. I had troubles with Livy too so I thought better safe than sorry. So anyhoo, I went in and doc figured my "supposed" due date as 11/21/09 and I was 7 wks 4 days. He said the only way to tell if baby was okay was to do an ultrasound. So we attempted it. I say "attempted" because they tried and my bladdler wasn't full enough so I had to wait 30 min. After waiting I got to do my ultrasound. The wonderful news is that baby is totally fine! But I'm not as far along as what I thought. Even though the doc and I figured my due date and how far along I was based off my last period, the real way to know is from the ultrasound. Well it showed that I was 5wks 4 days. I was kinda bummed that I wasn't as far along as what I thought (my emotions were crazy yesterday!!!), but the blessing in all of this is that baby is super! Anyhoo..after we did the ultrasound the nurse took me in a room to wait again..then the doc came in and said everything was peachy. I'm thinking "oh good, now I can go home", but.. doc wanted me to go to the hosptial have blood drawn. I'm thinking..."What! I'm tired, I want to go HOME!" After being there 2 hours I was so ready! Well, as I said before baby was good so it was worth it. So I went to the hospital to wait some more, then they drew blood. Oh yeah, I have to go back Friday and more blood drawn. Oh well, I'll go straight to the lab this time, so no big deal.. But all in all, I'm fine and baby is fine. After all that I had to get some groceries. We were out of stuff so I had to. After dragging myself though Wal-Mart we got home and John said, "Why don't you go to bed and I'll put groceries away and put Livy to bed." What a sweet hubby! He is the best! So at 8:30 I finally got to rest.

Everything seems to be fine and God is still good! I am still spotting a bit so please pray for baby. Pray for me too. My emotions are kinda crazy right now. Praying and reading His Word helps!

An Easter Favorite

I believe that Easter candy is BEST candy of the year!!! I LOVE THESE SO MUCH! But unfortunately if I eat many of these they don't love me. These are an Easter MUST! Kudos to the Reese's candy people.

Dear Easter Bunny,
These have been my favorite Easter candy ever since I was a little girl. Please bring me some of these. I love them so!

Thank you!

I'm A Big Kid Now!

We went to SDC on Sat. to play and it's offical...Livy is tall enough to ride the ladybugs all by herself! She totally ate it up! Loved it!
My sis Angela also met us there to play too. She loved her auntie being there. A bit windy Sat, but 70+ degrees. Nice! Afterwards we went to Red Lobster with Jason, Buffy, and Bethany. Then of course, I had to go to Target. Fun day with the fam.

This Ones For The Girls

Friday night I attended a sleepover with my 4th Team Kid girls. They had a great time. What a good bunch of gals. As a fun craft, the girls decorated frames with jewels, buttons, and paint. Then we had a good pic taken so they could put it in their frame. They loved it!

We watched movies, ate tacos, and stayed up late. I was one tired person the next day. We went to Branson Sat. so I was beat, but being with those girls was totally worth being tired.
