And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Yes I'm blogging food!

Okay I love food. Mainly cereal!! I got this granola recipe from our pastor's wife and it is sooooo good! So if you are feeling a bit like Martha Stewart (like I have been feeling lately) you should make it. The next thing you know I'll be grinding my own wheat to make bread. No not really.

Here's the recipe....

Granola Cereal

(preheat oven to 325 degrees)

6 c. old fashion oats
1 c. coconut (I left this out but you could add it)
1/2 c. wheat germ (on the cereal isle)
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. chopped pecans (i used slivered almonds)
1/3 c. canola oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 honey

Put oats and coconut onto a baking sheet and toast them at 325 for 10 min. While they are toasting, mix the rest of the dry ingredients together; wheat germ, pecans (I used almonds), and cinnamon in a bowl. Set aside. In another bowl, mix canola oil, vanilla, and honey together. I put this in the microwave for about 30 sec. or so to bring it together. Give it a good whisk when it comes out. After oats and coconut are finished toasting pour them into a large bowl and set hot pan aside. First add all dry ingredients and toss. Then add the wet ingredients and mix until everything is coated. Pour the entire mixture onto the pan, spread it out, and put it back into the oven for about 15 min. Keep an eye on it. Then after about 15 min. take the granola out and dump it onto wax paper, spread it out, and let it cool for a while. After it is cool store in an air tight canister. ***Really yummy mixed with craisins!!!!

It's really easy. Enjoy! Now I must go to iron all of our socks and weave Easter baskets for the kids. It's a good thing...

Happy Granola Making!
