And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

The Interruped Life

We began this Bible study last night. I have been looking forward to this one for a while. It's called "Jonah, Navigating a Life Interrupted" I love the way Priscilla Shirer opens up God's Word and makes Jonah come to life. Jonah was a prophet of God, a man that God called to do something totally different with his life than he had planned for himself. To go to a people that Jonah was NOT thrilled to go to. So he ran. God interrupts our plans for His purpose. My interruption story.? Well I've had lots of inerruptions throughout my life (who hasn't right?) but I'm in the biggest interruption yet. It started when I was Children's Director at our church and God was calling me to stay home with Liv. "What! This what YOU called me to. No way!" I fought with Him for a while then after a few months, I went with Him into one of the biggest blessing of my life, become the "at home chick". Now without a doubt I know exactly why I'm at home; for the next interruption.. Anna. First of all Anna is never an inconvenience! I love that kiddo so much! However, I never expected her to have the health issues she has had the past almost 2 years ( began in womb).. Respiratory, development, digestive... Truly inside I have fought God on this for the past two years. Yes, I know his plans are good, but they aren't MINE. However, I do know that he has called our family to this place for his purpose. I'm peaceful and priviledge to take this journey with my God.

"I am Jonah. I want to serve God....as long as it is convenient. I desire to do His will....until it is a tad uncomfortable....I want to hear His Word....as long as it's message is one I'm supposed to pass on to someone else. I don't want to have my plans interrupted. Oh yes. I am Jonah, and I suspect that in one way or another, you are too."
