And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

The Parent Adventure

We began this lesson in Sunday school a couple weeks ago. It is going to be a great study. When I really got to looking at this study and saw the couple's picture, I realized I have heard this material before. I had the privilege of hearing the couple that wrote this study at one of the LifeWay conferences I went to in Nashville when I was Children's Director at our church. It was awesome and I'm so glad they made a study out of the material they shared.

Sunday we talked about "letting go of your children" and even right from the beginning. They are not ours they are God's. He created them. Ultimately they are His! Today I read about having a "yes" home. When I heard this couple speak the thing I remember them saying about having a "yes" home is saying yes in the everyday things and leaving the NO's for the major things. I have committed to setting down with Livy more when she asks and doing things that she wants to do. It may sound like a little thing, but how they view you is ultimately how they view God. We aren't God of course, but since we take care of our kids and love them we DO shape their view of who God is. Is He our loving Heavenly Father and someone we can have a daily relationship with? Or is He someone who is very distant and not approachable? This study has made me want to know God more so I can show His love to my girls . I want them to come to know Him as their Savior and have an daily walk with Him. This is going to be super study!

Birthday Girl

Livy's birthday party was today and honestly I'm glad that's over. Don't get me wrong it was fun to have the fam over, but it can be kinda stressful too. People say, "wait until she is a teenager and wants friends over.." Oh my!
The cake: Okay, I so love to make birthday cakes for my girls (Anna's will be in November, but lets not rush the first birthday). I had fun doing it.

Make a wish!

Happy 3rd birthday baby girl!

Happy Birthday Olivia

3 years old today! My how time flies...How I love my Livy Grace.

Psalm 127:3-5

Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

I'm blessed to have 2 beautiful girls today.

Catching Up

Wow! It's super cold outside. Holy Cow! Been doing other stuff like trying to KEEP WARM and I haven't been blogging.

We had a super New Year holiday! New Years Eve no one last until midnight. Especially Livy....She only last until about 7 p.m. then passed out. Oh wait, maybe that's because she didn't nap that day! Geeze... Of course Momma wasn't going to let her stay up until midnight anyway. (can you image!! YIKES!) While feeding Anna I watched the ball drop in NYC then went to bed. Hey, it was midnight there.

I love it! A chocolate covered pretzel in hand even while sleeping. LOL!

Then the day after New Years my family came down to have Christmas. We had a super time as always. This is what Livy got from Uncle Jason and Aunt Buffy. She loves it and wears it ALL the time. I have to wash it every other day she wears it so much...
She was a happy girl. (that brown spot on her face is marker..yeah, go figure.)

Cousins play in PJ's
Our little cutie in her jeans. They don't swallow her anymore. I love them so! (Is Livy still holding a chocolate covered pretzel? Yes she is! I swear I don't let her have candy ALL the time!)

I love her so! 6 weeks old. Precious.
I think it's worth mentioning...I so love NOT being pregnant anymore!! I can do things now like cooking, cleaning, play with my family, etc. I'm not having sit anymore! It has been wonderful!! You don't appreciate the freedom to move around until it's partially gone. Thank the Lord that it was only for a season! Anyway just thought I would throw that in there. :)
