Our day at home
Today was a good day. Warm and nice outside. We opened windows and played outside. It was great!! I even cleaned up our garage and swept it out. Not the most fun job, but I get the gold star for doing it! Livy just watched from the playpen. But she did her part. She said "HI" to all the walkers that went by. I tell ya, she is the friendly social butterfly!! I made banana bread for a neighbor and Livy and I took it over after we got done cleaning the garage. Hope they like it. Our loaf was yummy! After John got home he fired up the grill and made some pretty darn tasty chicken. Well that's about it. Oh by the way, Livy is better today. Boy those teeth are come'n right on through. She's got some chompers!

Laundry baskets and Momma time
The laundry basket is one of her favorites. I don't get it, but she likes it. She really loves it when I pull her around in it. I think she sat in the basket for at least 20 min. looking at books and just sitting. Livy really hasn't felt the best today. She has run a low-grade fever today. She is cutting 1 yr. molars...yuck! She is loving cold drinks and things to chew on. So we have been hang'n out in the recliner today sleeping and cuddling. Bless her little heart. Teething, not fun! It's nice to know that my mommy friends out there went through the same thing. But this too shall pass.... Other than that I have loved setting with my "little chick" just hang'n out!

Yes I'm blogging food!
Here's the recipe....
Granola Cereal
(preheat oven to 325 degrees)
6 c. old fashion oats
1 c. coconut (I left this out but you could add it)
1/2 c. wheat germ (on the cereal isle)
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. chopped pecans (i used slivered almonds)
1/3 c. canola oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 honey
Put oats and coconut onto a baking sheet and toast them at 325 for 10 min. While they are toasting, mix the rest of the dry ingredients together; wheat germ, pecans (I used almonds), and cinnamon in a bowl. Set aside. In another bowl, mix canola oil, vanilla, and honey together. I put this in the microwave for about 30 sec. or so to bring it together. Give it a good whisk when it comes out. After oats and coconut are finished toasting pour them into a large bowl and set hot pan aside. First add all dry ingredients and toss. Then add the wet ingredients and mix until everything is coated. Pour the entire mixture onto the pan, spread it out, and put it back into the oven for about 15 min. Keep an eye on it. Then after about 15 min. take the granola out and dump it onto wax paper, spread it out, and let it cool for a while. After it is cool store in an air tight canister. ***Really yummy mixed with craisins!!!!
It's really easy. Enjoy! Now I must go to iron all of our socks and weave Easter baskets for the kids. It's a good thing...
Happy Granola Making!

Another day of snow! Yuck! But we have cookies!
More snow! AHHHHH! I'm so ready for spring! It snowed during the day yesterday and on into the evening hours. When all was said and done we had about 8 inches or so. Despite the snow outside we had our own fun inside. Livy is going to be a chef when she grows up. She played with the pots and pans. She loves to do that. Mommy made cookies!! Chocolate chip pecan!! YUMMO! Paula Dean would be proud of my cookies! All that good ol' butter! They are pretty darn good if I do say so myself. I wish you could have one but I guess you will just have to look at the picture. I'll eat one for you!

Sharing our snowed in day with you.
These are pics of our snowed in day . We had about 7 or 8 inches of snow this morning. It wasn't a bad snow really. It was very pretty and the roads are clear so that's a good thing. Olivia is a great picture taker. Hope you enjoy the pics! She is such a hoot!
John's finance class at ASU was cancelled tonight (due to the snow)so he will be home tonight.
I have women's Bible study tonight. I always look forward to hanging out, eating, and study God's Word with my girlfriends (did I mention that we eat...a lot!). That is always fun! Our Bible study leader Ms. Nell is wonderful. We have been doing a study on our moods. John said I really needed to see what God's word had to say about my moods. Ha Ha! Tonight's study is about how life can get dull and it is only through God and His word that we can find strength and be refreshed. Hope you have done that today!
I added in some pics from Sunday. We were getting ready to go to church and Livy was toooo cute in her outfit from Aunt Buffy.

Branson Fun!
On Saturday we went to Branson to see my sister Angela perform in Beauty and the Beast at College of the Ozarks. She was the wardrobe in the play. She did a great job as always. That girl can sing! Wish I could have heard more of her. Anyway... John and I decided to make a day of it so we went to the outlet malls and such. We had a great time. Didn't get in until after midnight, but yeah we had a great day! We ate at Cracker Barrel for lunch and then at Olive Garden with "the fam" (a group of my Mom's family) later. Oh by the way, got some great stuff at Target!! Love that store!!
